My Coffee Bar

The coffee bar is an area of our home that I get a lot of questions about so here are a little bit of details. This was a space that used to be a desk. As soon as I saw it I wanted to change it into open shelves and more storage. Molly designed the space and Joe of H&J Cabinets built it. The hardware is Armac Martin and I just adore those pulls. I actually was able to source them from the wonderful Monika Hibbs! We matched the paint to the rest of the kitchen cabinets and had the open shelves stained the same shade as our master vanity.

I love white pottery and china and a white and blue kitchen. Couple of year ago I was inspired by Aerin Lauder’s kitchen and her collection of white pitchers. Over the past few years I started my own little collection. Above the everyday coffee mugs and tea cups the jugs make a pretty display. I also use them to serve water or display flowers from time to time so they are also very useful.

I love Burliegh Asiatic Pheasant pattern and so far have a few cups and a jug from them but hoping to grow my collection. I also have a couple of pieces from the ever so lovely Astier De Villate displayed. That’s another collection I am hoping to grow.

The coffee mugs are Clos du Manoir and make me oh so happy every morning. The teapot is vintage Herend and the Italian Spode tea cups are from Fortnum Mason. The white tea cups are Villeroy & Boch.

The silver trays are antique and were a gift from my mom. The silver tea and coffee pots are vintage tea and coffee set from the Claridges in London that I was able to find through an auction. The little cache bowl is also vintage from the Ritz Paris circa 1940. The votive is Baccarat.  I feel like there is a certain elegance to hotel coffee service and this little corner with all the little vintage pieces from some of my favorite hotels bring a peaceful yet elegant feel to my mornings.

The Smeg kettle is wonderful and I use it every day. Since this picture was taken I have also added a Smeg Espresson Machine which I love.

The champagne bucket is from Sasha & Nicholas and I use it as vase or to keep drinks cool when we have guests.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like me to share anything else from this space. I would love to hear from you!
